Before rehabbing my knee with Dr. Josh Bletzinger I was unsure about the stability and strength in my knee after tearing my ACL & MCL. I had gone through the basic four month program with Athletico, three days a week and still questioned my future as a division one college hockey player. While training with Josh I began to feel more confident in my knee. He was more knowledgeable with nutrition, body mechanics, and had first hand experience tearing his ACL. I was able to strengthen surrounding areas that were weak in order to take the strain off of my knee. If your goal is to train at a competitive level again I recommend working with Performance Chiropractic & Sports Medicine. I came into preseason camp the strongest guy on our team. My legs are more explosive and I feel even stronger on my skates. My knee has never been an excuse despite the demanding workouts and practices. I am so fortunate to have found Josh and continue to seek advice for other weakness throughout my body.

Making the decision to fix my torn rotator cuff was difficult because I knew the recovery time would be long and painful. Making the decision to see Dr. Bletzinger for physical therapy was the easy decision. As a chiropractic vendor, I work with hundreds of doctors, and have never known anyone so passionate, and so well educated as Dr. Bletzinger. He understands human anatomy and biomechanics better than anyone I have ever met, and that is why I trusted him to rehabilitate my post-surgery shoulder. The doctor’s shoulder protocols were exactly what I needed to get back to my lifestyle and as quickly as possible. I appreciate his attention to detail and always explaining my progress each week. I saw significant improvements with my range of motion only weeks into physical therapy. Now, my shoulder is more stable than it has ever been, and I look forward to hitting the ski slopes again this year.

Hips, knees, and back: They all hurt but what made them all hurt? For many years I went through physical therapy and they all said my back was the big problem. However nothing seemed to have helped. I would go to gymnastics and go running and always be in pain. I thought it was just the sports. In August of 2010 the pain in all areas got worse. I was unable to run at cross country. My dad’s co-worker went to Dr. Josh B, who’s a chiropractor, and said he performed miracles on him. So we decided to go give him a try.
Dr. Josh listened, examined, and x-rayed me. He finally came to a conclusion of what was wrong. No other Dr. could figure out what was wrong. Dr. Josh found that it wasn’t just my knees or my back, but that is was my right leg being a little shorter making my hips uneven. On top of that issue was that my core muscles were not strong. Even thought I have very strong abs, I needed work. The ab muscles are not the true core. Your hip muscles are a very big part of your core and my muscles weren’t even strong enough to hold my hips in place properly. After we figured everything wrong with me Dr. Josh started rebuilding me.
I started physical therapy or “activation” exercises for my core body. Dr. Josh would also adjust me every time I came in so my hips would be even. I was coming into the office twice a week. We started off slow with classic strength building exercises. Dr. Josh created my strength building plan on what I needed, on how I was feeling, and what kind of activity I did or would be doing. He looked at every aspect of what I wanted to do and did what was best for me. Dr. Josh would also switch up my exercises when I would change sports; from running to gymnastics. I continued my therapy and was eventually given “homework” to do at home (which greatly helps).
As my strength grew the exercises would become harder and more active. I began to feel less and less pain while running and doing gymnastics. You could physically see the improvement in my body and performance. My hips began to hold even for longer periods of time and my gymnastics coach said she could see a major improvement in my posture and skill. The most important thing was that I felt better. As I continued to grow stronger I scaled back to going one day a week into the office. Josh always asked how I was feeling, what hurt, if there was any new pain, and then he would act on the problem. Whatever I threw at him he could fix. He always seems to care on how you’re doing with pain and just in your daily life as well. Josh continued to ramp up my exercises.
Every week he had new things for me. However I hit a few bumps in the road. First I had major shin splints, Josh then reacted to that. He rolled me out and stretched me to fix that up. After another month went by I was able to scale back to every other week. Whenever I got hurt the first person I went to was Dr. Josh. I had gotten turf toe from gymnastics and was unable to do anything for a month. During that month Dr. Josh checked up to see how I was recovering by calling me. After recovering I went back to Dr. Josh every week until I got caught back up with my therapy.
I now still go to Dr. Josh every other week or every two weeks. He did amazing things for me. Dr. Josh knows what he is talking about and how to get down to the core problem and fix it. He works very hard and expects you to return it. He is caring and kind with a great attitude that only helps the healing process.
