Sports Medicine Rehabilitation
Sports medicine specializes in preventing, diagnosing and treating injuries related to participating in sports and/or exercise, specifically the rotation or deformation of joints or muscles caused by engaging in such physical activities. Because of the competitive nature of sports, a primary focus of sports medicine is the rapid recovery of injuries, which drives many innovations in the field.
Performance Clinic’s Sports Medicine Rehabilitation
Performance Clinic's Sports Medicine Rehabilitation differs greatly from the traditional methods of physical therapy. Our concepts identify breakdowns in the kinetic chain (the biomechanical concept on how our body works) and work to restore proper biomechanical function not only at the site of dyfunction but every component that may be contributing to it. We don’t focus on what’s working wrong but rather what’s not working correctly. The program includes a sophisticated sequence of restoring structural integrity, tissue strength, flexibility, mobility and durability.
The program continuum bridges the gap from restoring inital function of an injury to development of return to play readiness.
The Future of Sports Medicine
In today’s evolving training and conditioning market, athletes have access to a huge arsenal of equipment and workout programs. However, the best equipment and programs cannot produce if the fundamental weaknesses are not exposed and corrected. Less sophisticated, high volume programs put athletes on strength and conditioning programs based on their sport or position. Very few base their program on the athlete’s specific structural and functional needs.
AthletesEDGE is redefining Sports Medicine and Sports Performance. With a growing athletic and active population, AthletesEDGE is positioned to provide an innovative system of health care from initial injury management through a continuum of performance development and injury prevention.
